Steve Awtrey serves as the Children's Pastor at McConnell Baptist Church, where he is passionate about helping kids find and follow Jesus. Through exciting worship services, engaging Bible lessons, fun events, and meaningful relationships, Steve strives to help children build a strong foundation of faith that will last a lifetime.
When Steve’s not planning games, teaching Bible stories, or preparing for the next big event, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Virginia and their two kids, Ashlyn & Alex, cheering on his favorite sports team, the Alabama Crimson Tide, (Roll Tide) and playing guitar. He also enjoys sitting in the car while Virginia shops!
His greatest desire is that every child who comes through the doors of McConnell Baptist Church will know that God loves them and sent His son, Jesus Christ to die for them and that they will one day surrender their life to Jesus Christ!
