VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

The ESL Ministry Team, coordinated by Mary Dolvin, is in need of more teachers and childcare workers. They meet each Thursday night at 7:00 pm in the Family Life Center. Volunteers in this ministry do not need to speak a foreign language or be professional teachers. If you speak English and love Jesus, we can teach you the rest!  Contact Mary Dolvin at 828-389-9451.

MCCONNELL MEN’S MINISTRY | 9/25

Men of all ages are invited to come to our McConnell Men’s ministry to fellowship, eat, & study the life of the prophet, Jonah. We meet Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m. in the Lodge. Facilitated by Pastor Steve Awtrey,  this group meets monthly in the Lodge with dinner provided. This is a great outreach event, so invite someone to come with you!

OCTOBER IS PASTOR APPRECIATION MONTH

October is Pastor Appreciation month.  We have some very deserving pastors who serve the McConnell family and this community.  This is our opportunity to recognize them and show our appreciation for all that they do!  Please take the time to send a card with your note of appreciation to them.  There will be a basket for your cards at the Welcome Center each Sunday in October. How else can you honor your pastors?  Prayer is huge. Pray for your pastors daily, in your own quiet time.

Candy collection begins | 10/2

We will begin to accept donations of individually wrapped candy beginning next Sunday, October 2nd thru the 30th.  Look for the bins located in the FLC, Drive-thru Portico Lobby and the Office Lobby. The Candy at the Fairgrounds community outreach is on Monday, 10/31 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Pastor Steve Awtrey and his Children’s Team will be at booth #27. Stop by and say hello!

FIRST STEPS/NEW MEMBERS CLASS - 10/9

If you are new to the church or want information on joining the church, please join Pastor Steve & Pastor Danny as they share information about McConnell’s vision. The class will be held on June 12th, at 11:45 a.m., in The Lodge immediately following the morning worship service. A light lunch will be served. This class is a prerequisite for joining the church.  Register online or call the church office to register at 706-896-2281.

New! PLACE: SPIRITUAL GIFTS INVENTORY CLASS| 10/29

Are you feeling confused about where God has called you to serve? Do you have difficulty discerning society’s voices of what you “should” be doing versus God’s voice? Are you searching for what God wants you to do? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, please consider registering for PLACE – Spiritual Gifts Inventory Class. It will be held on Saturday, October 29th, 9 am - 4 pm in The Lodge. This class will have limited seating, so sign up soon. A signup sheet is at the Welcome desk or call the church office.
