Seek Him

Pastor Steve TaylorFasting 2017

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall SEE GOD.”
Matthew 5:8
Think about that. God Himself! Our Creator, Provider, Lover, Grace Giver, Father, the most
Compassionate One who makes all things Just! To see God in His world—His word—His
worship—His work. Don’t you long to “dwell in the house of the Lord forever” and to “abide in”
His presence and love?
“You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 29:13
First and foremost, it is in the seeking Him wholeheartedly that we will suddenly find ourselves
longing for the pure and less interested in the world’s temptations around us. When we are
looking up to Him, we aren’t lured by the empty promises or don’t easily take the bait at the
worldly callings.
We don’t even seek purity…..we seek HIM
And in that seeking we will become purer and purer.
He calls us to fix our hearts and minds on Him; seeking Him will reveal more and more of His
purity. We cannot become pure in our own strength, but rather it is in the bending at the
knee, a daily, fervently searching for Him, holding fast to him, and seeking to love Him with all
of our heart, soul, mind, and strength … that we will start to look like Him—His breath in us
more revealed. The more time we spend with Him, the more He will rub off on us and the world
will rub off from us….
May we continually love and seek God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength
so much that we become a good reflection of Him to others around us.
