Kingdom Prayer Focus

Father, we are grateful that You are in control of all things. You guide us with Your gentle whispers as You watch over our comings and goings. You tell us not to worry about tomorrow, but we cannot make it through a day without finding ourselves doing exactly that. We reveal our lack of faith and trust in You when we allow worry to run the show and then we end up in a place You never intended for us to be. And as we run for our lives when the next bad thing happens, give us the wisdom we need to trust You for the “now”. Forgive us for our stubbornness in giving up control to You. Teach us to hand over the wheel and become a passenger who allows You to drive the vehicle of our lives. Help us to remember how You fought for us in past battles and remind us that You will be there to get us through the next one. For You were in our yesterday and You will be in our tomorrow too! In the name of Jesus, amen.

Reminders/Announcements

OCTOBER IS PASTOR APPRECIATION MONTH
October is Pastor Appreciation month.  We have some very deserving pastors who serve the McConnell family and this community.  This is our opportunity to recognize them and show our appreciation for all that they do!  Please take the time to send a card with your note of appreciation to them.  There will be a basket for your cards at the Welcome Center each Sunday in October. How else can you honor your pastors?  Prayer is huge. Pray for your pastors daily!!

Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Kickoff | 10/9
Operation Christmas Child Shoebox will kickoff on Sunday, October 9th. Shoeboxes will be available in the Welcome Center area for you to take and fill for that very special child who will receive your gifts. Begin praying now for that child! Filled shoeboxes must be returned to the church by Sunday, November 13th so they can begin their journey! You can also Build a Shoebox online at https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/buildonline/. This year to cover costs for collection, processing & shipping to over 100 countries, a $10 donation per shoebox is requested. In addition, McConnell Church will also serve as a regional drop off center for Samaritan’s Purse from November 14th through November 21st. Last year, we received and packed 1500 shoeboxes during this week! If you would like to serve in this ministry, contact Cheryl Peebles at [email protected] or call the church office at 706-896-2281.
