Kingdom Prayer Focus

Lord, we pray that you will give us a greater vision of who you are. You are positioning us for your end-time harvest. Breathe your life into ours. Your mighty power is shown through our weakness. We acknowledge our dependence on you and thank You that impossibilities in our lives give you freedom to work. Help us to walk in a new level of trust in You. You have plans to prosper us and to give us hope and a future. Help us to understand Your supremacy, Your sovereignty, and Your glory. Help us to align with You and make Your presence the central theme of our church body. "The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty—Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea—the LORD on high is mighty" (Psalm 93:1-4). In Jesus name, amen.

The Paul Van Nus Memorial Service will be held here at McConnell on Friday, October 28th, at 2 pm. Pastor Danny will be officiating.

The Nancy Harper Memorial Service will be here at McConnell on Saturday, November 5th at 2pm. Visitation is at 1:00 p.m.

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes
Shoeboxes are still available in the Welcome Center area for you to take and fill for that very special child who will receive your gifts. Filled shoeboxes must be returned to the church by Sunday, November 13th. You can also Build a Shoebox online at https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/buildonline/.

Acorn Tree | 10/30
The Fall crop of Little Acorns is ready for harvest on our Oak Tree in the Welcome Center! This is your opportunity to select a child in our church and commit to pray for that child throughout the year! Lord, May our Little Acorns become Mighty Oaks for You!

Every 5th Sunday (once a quarter) our Peak Worship kids celebrate with the adults in the Worship Service and sing for us. PEAK Kids (1st - 5th grade) will stay with their families for church. PEAK Kids Jr. (Kinder & Pre-K) will sing with the Elementary Kids, and then be ushered back to  the Children’s Dept. Come out, watch the kids sing, and worship with the whole family!

Candy at the fairgrounds | 10/31
The Candy at the Fairgrounds community outreach is on Monday, 10/31 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Pastor Steve Awtrey and his Children’s Team will be at booth #27. Stop by and say hello!

The Grounds Committee is coordinating a church grounds workday for Saturday, Nov. 5th, at 8:30 am. We’ll meet for coffee at the covered drive-thru. Bring a 5 Gallon Bucket, rakes, wheelbarrows, blowers, etc. to work on the embankment at the back of the FLC. Enjoy this opportunity to serve outdoors!

The McConnell Deacon Body would like to invite all senior citizens to a monthly breakfast fellowship on the first Sunday of each month in the Family Life Center from 8:00 a.m. - 8:45 a.m. The first one will be next Sunday, November 6th. Come and have coffee with friends!

NEW Book Study Begins 11/13
A Place Called Heaven Book Study by Robert Jeffress will begin on November 13th at 9:00 a.m. in the Book Study Sunday School class, #LL-042. If you don’t have a Sunday School to attend, this is a great way to start and get plugged in!

The McConnell Women’s Ministry is planning a “Christmas Through the Eyes of a Child" Brunch on Saturday, December 3rd at 11:00 a.m. Tickets will be available beginning October 30th in the Drive Thru Portico Lobby on Sunday mornings after the Worship Service. They are $15 each and seating is limited. We also need 36 hostesses to provide a centerpiece for each table; everything else will be provided. Call or text Lorene Avery at 706-994-7811 to volunteer, or email  [email protected]

A new ministry, “Soups On!” is looking to provide an opportunity to minister to anyone who would be blessed with a brief visit and a simple meal of soup and muffin. This gesture of kindness could be extended to someone recently home from the hospital; someone needing a respite from caregiving; a new neighbor as a welcome or in an outreach effort in our community. So if you like to cook, have a favorite recipe and would enjoy the fellowship of group cooking, sign up at the Welcome Desk, and watch for details for our “Cooking Up a Party” event to fill the freezer for Soups On!

Operation Christmas Child SHOEBOX Distribution Center | 12/13
A group from our church is participating in the Atlanta Shoebox Processing Center for OCC on Tuesday, December 13th, 2022, from 10:00 am - 4:00 p.m. We have 20 places reserved. If you are interested in going, contact Nancy Stahl at: 706-896-9943 or email [email protected]
