Our VBS Registration is now open for kids and volunteers! Join Pastor Steve Awtrey and his VBS team for a fun-filled, fast-paced week of “Twists & Turns”, June 19th thru June 23rd, 9:00 am - noon. Help us be prepared & successful by pre-registering your kids online now! NORTH GA FCA RUN/WALK FUNDRAISER  | 5/6
Come run or walk with us, and help to support our local North GA FCA. This race is a fundraiser for summer scholarship for our local athletes to attend FCA summer camps. Registration available until race day at 7:45am (including in person registration). However, participants are only guaranteed a shirt if registered by April 20th. VBS MEETING | 5/7
Calling all VBS volunteers! VBS 2023 is June 19th - 23rd. If you have already committed to serve, or are interested in serving at VBS 2023, come to an informational meeting on Sunday 5/7 immediately following the worship service in the Children’s dept. MMBC Preschool Graduation | 5/11
On Thursday, May 11th, eighteen 4 year-olds will graduate from our weekday preschool, well-prepared to move up to Kindergarten. All of our McConnell family is invited to attend their commencement service at 6:00 pm in the Worship Center. Please join us in recognizing these students, their families, and our Preschool Staff!

SPECIAL OLYMPICS | 5/11
The annual Special Olympics on Thursday, May 11th, at the Towns County Schools football field. McConnell, led by our Deacons, will be providing lunch that day for the Special Olympics children, their families, and volunteers (300-350 people!). If you’d like to help, we will meet at the Church at 8:30 a.m. to load up supplies.  If you’d just like to cheer on these special athletes, come to the Towns County football field at 9:00 a.m. We’ll be serving lunch at 11:30 a.m. If you have any questions, contact Dennis White at: 205-914-6269.

Deacon Recommendations
McConnell Church members - It’s time to begin prayerfully considering your recommendations for the office of deacon for the coming year. Our deacons serve for terms of three years after having been nominated and elected by the church.  Nominees must be a McConnell church member for at least one year and meet the biblical requirements for serving. Beginning Sunday, May 14th, paper recommendation forms will be available in the Welcome Center or, if you prefer, you can make your recommendations online on the church website at https://mcconnellchurch.org/deacon-nomination/ The deadline to make a recommendation is Sunday, June 18th.
