Kingdom Prayer Focus

Father, we are thankful that you gave us one another to love, honor, and serve. We ask that you show us the areas in our lives that we struggle with unforgiveness and bitterness. If our actions have wounded others, show us how to make amends. Help us to surround ourselves with people who will hold us accountable, who will speak the truth in love. Root out the darkness in us and light up our lives with Your holy presence. Fill our souls with joy and the peace that surpasses all understanding. You created us in Your own image....you know our thoughts before we speak them. You examine our hearts and see through our excuses and intentions. So today we confess our desperate need for You, but we need Your help. Just as You created the world out of nothing, Lord, create a clean heart out of our “nothingness.” We love you and praise the Holy name of your son Jesus Christ, amen.

Reminders/Announcements

DEACON RECOMMENDATIONS
McConnell Church members - It’s time to begin prayerfully considering your recommendations for the office of deacon for the coming year. Our deacons serve for terms of three years after having been nominated and elected by the church. Nominees must be a McConnell church member for at least one year and meet the biblical requirements for serving. Beginning Sunday, paper recommendation forms will be available in the Welcome Center or, if you prefer, you can make your recommendations online on the church website. The deadline to make a recommendation is June 19th.

VBS REGISTRATION
Spark imagination and kick creativity into high gear at Spark Studios! Join Pastor Steve Awtrey and his VBS team for a fun-filled, fast-paced week, June 20th thru June 24th, 9:00 am until noon. Help us be prepared & successful by pre-registering your kids online at www.mcconnellchurch.org. If you would like to serve in VBS this year, please contact Pastor Steve at [email protected].

PARENT CHILD DEDICATION _5/22 or 6/19
Parent Child Dedication is a public commitment you make before God, your church, and your family. The dedication service provides you, the parent(s), an opportunity to express publicly your desire to lead and spiritually nurture your child in partnership with the church, so your child will develop a desire to love and serve God. With the pandemic, we have missed having this dedication so we have scheduled two opportunities: Sunday, May 22nd or Sunday, June 19th. Call the church office or click here to register online.

MEN’S MINISTRY | 5/22
Men of all ages are invited to come to our McConnell Men’s Ministry Sunday May 22nd, at 6:00 p.m. in the Lodge. Facilitated by Pastor Steve Awtrey, this group meets monthly in the Lodge with dinner provided. This is a great outreach event, so invite someone to come with you!

NO WEDNESDAY EVENING SERVICES | 5/25
There will be no activities on Wednesday evening, May 25th.

FAMILY WORSHIP SUNDAY | 5/29
Every 5th Sunday (once a quarter) our Peak Worship kids celebrate with the adults in the Worship Service and sing for us. PEAK Kids (1st - 5th grade) will stay with their families for church. PEAK Kids Jr. (Kinder & Pre-K) will sing with the Elementary Kids, and then be ushered back to the Children’s Dept.

NEW BIBLE STUDY | 5/29
Join our Book Study class on Sunday morning May 29th at 9 a.m. in LL-042 for “Elijah” by Priscilla Shirer. Journey through the life and times of the prophet Elijah to discover how the fire on Mount Carmel was forged in the valley of famine, and how the emboldened, fiery faith you desire is being fashioned by God in your life right now.
