Kingdom Prayer Focus

Heavenly father, we thank you for watching over us, and for giving us everything we need in your Word and through the Holy Spirit to understand the unseen realm. We need your daily strength to stop letting the enemy seduce us into conformity with the world. We are in a daily battle for control of our minds, and we ask for your help to control our thinking so we can be a transformer and an overcomer. Remind us that we must give you our minds! Keep us from listening to, and chasing the idols of this world, and show us that surrender is the FIRST step, not the last. Only then we will witness the spiritual process of transformation in our lives! Thank you for being jealous for us. We need you…in Christ’s name, amen.

There will be a VBS Workday on Saturday, June 18th at 10:00 a.m. in the FLC and preschool. We will also need help setting up tables on Sunday June 19th after the morning worship service. Call the church office for more details.

McConnell Church members - please remember to prayerfully consider your recommendations for the office of deacon for the coming year. Our deacons serve for terms of three years after having been nominated and elected by the church. Nominees must be a McConnell church member for at least one year and meet the biblical requirements for serving. Paper recommendation forms will be available in the Welcome Center or, if you prefer, you can make your recommendations online on the church website. The deadline to make a recommendation is June 19th.

Love people? The McConnell Greeters Team is looking for volunteers to serve before Sunday services ( SS and Worship)  for the entire month once a year to welcome both members and guests. If you love to smile and say hello, then this is a great opportunity for you to get to know our church congregation! Contact Lorene Avery at 706-994-7811 or email [email protected].

Our library staff wants everyone to know that we have books for all ages. We have cook books, biographies, research, spiritual growth, book studies, as well as fiction. There is a children’s section full of Christian books. Bring your families on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon. Come and check us out on Sundays and Wednesdays before and after services as well.

Come join us on Sunday afternoon, July 3rd for our 4th Family Fun Fair from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the FLC and outdoors. There will be games, entertainment, inflatables, and activities for all ages. Dinner will be provided by McConnell. Bring your best dessert to share with others! Enter the drawing to win one of 2 incredible gift baskets. If you would like to volunteer, we need help in the following areas: food/kitchen, recreation/activities, entertainment, traffic flow, guest services, dessert contest/judges, and cleanup. Call Pastor Danny or Chris Weaver at the church office if you would like to help: 706-896-2281.
