Kingdom Prayer Focus

Father, we are grateful that You are in control of all things. You guide us with Your gentle whispers as You watch over our comings and goings. You tell us not to worry about tomorrow, but we cannot make it through a day without finding ourselves doing exactly that. We reveal our lack of faith and trust in You when we allow worry to run the show and then we end up in a place You never intended for us to be. And as we run for our lives when the next bad thing happens, give us the wisdom we need to trust You for the “now”. Forgive us for our stubbornness in giving up control to You. Teach us to hand over the wheel and become a passenger who allows You to drive the vehicle of our lives. Help us to remember how You fought for us in past battles and remind us that You will be there to get us through the next one. For You were in our yesterday and You will be in our tomorrow too! In the name of Jesus, amen.

Our library staff wants everyone to know that we have books for all ages. We have cook books, biographies, research, spiritual growth, book studies, as well as fiction. There is a children’s section full of Christian books. Bring your families on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon. Come and check us out on Sundays and Wednesdays before and after services as well.

Laundry Pods for YHC Students
There is a little over one week left to donate HE Laundry pods for YHC students. These will be distributed to the students at their community fair on August 18th. Laundry baskets are set up in the drive thru lobby, Family Life Center foyer, the Welcome Center, and in the church office. Drop off by 8/14.

If you are new to the church or want information on joining the church, please join Pastor Steve & Pastor Danny as they share information about McConnell’s vision. The class will be held next Sunday, August 14th, at 11:45 a.m., in The Lodge. A light lunch will be served. This class is a prerequisite for joining the church.  Register online or call the church office at 706-896-2281.

  • The first Awana meeting for the 2022-2023 school year starts August 15th. We ended the previous year with 83 students enrolled and we are praying for 100 to start this year! God is doing wonderful things with this ministry and has blessed this program with awesome leaders. But, as Awana grows, so does our need for workers. If you have a passion for children and would be interested in helping us “reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ” please consider joining us. Awana meets on Mondays in the FLC from 3:30 - 5:15 p.m. Contact Tom Wade with any questions at 478-285-0031.
  • The Awana leaders’ meeting scheduled for 8/13, has been rescheduled to 8/27. It will be held in the FLC from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Lunch provided.

Come spend time with other moms who can relate and support you! We meet on the third Tuesday of each month during the school year, 6:00-7:30 pm, in The Lodge. Dinner will be served. To RSVP, text "thrive" to 706-995-7515. For more info call or text Calah Pearson at (706) 599-9144 or email:  [email protected].

Church Members - There will be a called church conference & annual corporate meeting on Wednesday, August 17th at 6:00 pm in the Worship Center for the purpose of voting to approve the Servants in Ministry, Corporate Officers & Deacons for the coming year.
